New Remote Control Software for Vista 32 and 64 bit Systems
NetSupport has released its NetSupport Manager 10.02, offering full support for all Vista 32 bit and 64 bit variants. The latest update includes full remote control, remote deployment, integrated supported for admin clearance (UAC), remote login / logout, full hardware and software inventory, remote screen monitoring and recording and more. Support includes remote control both to and from a Vista system.
This update signifies the first mainstream remote control vendor to deliver a complete remote management solution for Windows Vista and provides full support of systems without compromising the additional security and benefits inherent in the new OS.
"To date, remote control solutions require adding software agents to their start-up folders, disabling the user "accept/deny" security validation process and setting the Vista desktop to run in Windows Classic theme, all of these negate the significant benefits available in Vista, said Al Kingsley, group managing director. "Our view has been that the only credible solution is to deliver remote control functionality without any impact on the remote system. Compromise should not be an option, especially in the arena of desktop security."
NetSupport Manager also supports all other Windows platforms from Win 95 onwards, Mac OS, Linux, Solaris, PPC, Win CE and Windows Mobile platforms.

Solon Manufacturing Company Introduces a Fully Integrated Wireless Pressure Switch
Solon Manufacturing Company's industrial controls division has teamed up with AdaletT Wireless to offer a fully integrated wireless pressure instrumentation system. The AWI-PS wireless integrated pressure switch is suited for process applications that require a relay to close or open at a given pressure. This wireless pressure system makes it possible to collect real time data and realize measurable cost savings for tank farms, pipelines, in-plant and other applications for pressure monitoring and measurement without the constraints of hard wiring.
The bellows pressure-sensing elements in the pressure switch device are constructed from 316 stainless steel and offer adjustable pressure ranges up to 0 to 5,000 PSI. The switch design utilizes a unique, robust and sensitive switching mechanism, which results in improved life, repeatability and lower dead bands.
Available in battery powered and AC powered versions, the AWI-PS wireless integrated pressure switch includes the wireless transmitter with integrated pressure switch, DIN-Rail mountable receiver and self-contained power source all in one lightweight, rugged enclosure for use in industrial environments. With this system it is now possible to avoid costly cable and conduit runs, reduce labor and material installation costs and monitor devices where cabling is not an option. It is a true "out of the box" installation and requires no programming or special set up.
Freewave Technologies Launches FGRplus Radio
FreeWave Technologies has released the FGRplus Industrial 900 MHz radio, the only radio of its kind that supports TCP, industrial grade wireless security and serial communications. The FGRplus combines the exceptional performance of the FGRO9CSU and HTplus radios allowing for long-range reliability with Ethernet capabilities and security.
Features for the FGRplus include a point to point range of 60 miles with clear line of site, a wide input range of 6 to 30 Vdc, four communication ports, (2 serial, Ethernet and diagnostics) a GUI interface and 154 Kbps over the air throughput.
"After the high demand for the FGRO9CSU and HTplus radios, we realized the convenience and the benefits of combining all of their features into one package,” explained Colin Lippincott, vice president, sales and marketing at FreeWave Technologies. "We are now proud to offer our customers a rugged and reliable solution that delivers communication without barriers for even the harshest of conditions.”
The FGRplus is well suited for many applications including oil & gas, military, electric power, water/wastewater, agriculture, golf/AVL, petro-Chemical, cathodic protection and security.

ReliOn Fuel Cells Complete UL Certification
ReliOn has received Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) certification for its T-1000 and T-2000 fuel cell solutions. The certification was completed under ANSI/CSA FC 1-2004, Stationary Fuel Cell Power Systems, the most current and comprehensive standard for certification of stationary fuel cell systems.
UL is an independent, not-for-profit product safety testing and certification organization. They have tested products for public safety for more than 110 years and have held the undisputed reputation as a leader in product safety testing and certification within the United States. ReliOn's fuel cells are the first to receive UL certification under ANSI/CSA FC 1-2004.
"UL certification removes some of the barriers to fuel cell deployment which are encountered as local codes and standards are applied in specific regions. Making it easier for our communications customers who are in the process of rolling out fuel cell technology is important to ReliOn," remarked Joe Blanchard, ReliOn's vice president, Product Line Management.
ReliOn's hydrogen fuel cell products provide reliable, low maintenance backup power for customer sites needing between 600 Watts and 12 kilowatts of power. With this certification, ReliOn has completed third-party safety and performance testing and certification for the T-1000 and T-2000 fuel cells. Other completed testing and certification organizations include CSA, CE, NEBS Level 3 and FCC.
